All About the Bracelet

Jul 29, 2020

Dropping by the Secret Scientist store, you probably noticed our selection of cool bracelets in lots of bright colors. Today, as we’ve done in the past, we’re going to briefly explore a little more about the origins of the bracelet.

The word ‘bracelet’ is believed to come from the Greek word ‘brachile’ which means “of the arm”. Its history stretches back centuries when the bracelet was worn by ancient Egyptians, Chinese, and even in Mesopotamia. These early bracelets were made from tree limbs, shells, and even grass.

It wasn’t until the 17th century that European women played a role in helping bracelets make a comeback, soon becoming fashionable accessories depicting eye-catching designs. By the 20th century, bracelet designs encompassed a near-infinite array of designs, styles, and materials.

Just a few days ago, we shared a bunch of different pictures on our Twitter page showing off the different Secret Scientist bracelets available in colors like baby blue, red, black, white, and more. Make sure to drop by the physical store in The Shoppes at Bel Air where we’re always stocking up on new bracelets and other accessories like hats.
